This unique 5-day adventure from Marrakech combines two of the most incredible experiences in Morocco: trekking in the High Atlas Mountains to Mount Toubkal and exploring the Sahara Desert of Merzouga.
The journey begins in the High Atlas Mountains, where you will hike through traditional Berber villages and stunning mountain landscapes. With the help of a local mountain guide, you will trek through valleys and reach the mountain refuge before attempting the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m), the highest peak in North Africa. From the top, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains and surrounding valleys.
After the mountain adventure, the trip continues south across the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, passing historic kasbahs and beautiful landscapes on the way to the Sahara.
In Merzouga, you will experience the magic of the desert with a camel trek through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, watching the sunset before arriving at a traditional desert camp. Enjoy a Berber dinner, traditional music, and a night under the stars in the heart of the Sahara.
The tour also includes visits to famous Moroccan highlights such as the Draa Valley, Rissani, Todra Gorges, Dades Valley, and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ait Ben Haddou before returning to Marrakech.

Morning departure from Marrakech to the mountain village of Imlil (1,740 m) in the High Atlas Mountains.
Meet the local mountain guide and muleteers.
Start trekking through Berber villages such as Aroumd, following the Mizane Valley, with spectacular mountain views and traditional Berber life.
Stop at the sacred shrine of Sidi Chamharouch.
Continue hiking to the mountain refuge for acclimatization.

This tour includes a trekking experience to Mount Toubkal (4,167 m), which requires a good level of physical fitness. The hike can be challenging, especially on the summit day, but it is achievable for travelers who are used to walking and hiking.
We recommend bringing:
Comfortable hiking shoes or trekking boots
Warm clothing (temperatures can be cold in the mountains, especially at night)
Light clothing for the desert
A windproof or waterproof jacket
Sunglasses, sunscreen and a hat
Small backpack for the trekking day
Personal medication if needed
This tour can be done all year round, but the best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) when temperatures are more comfortable.
In winter, snow can cover Mount Toubkal, and special equipment such as crampons may be required.
In Merzouga you will enjoy a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi dunes at sunset to reach the desert camp. This is one of the most magical moments of the trip.
