Before I tell you what should be your must-see in a 1 day trip in Rabat, you should know that…
Good transport connections in Rabat
Rabat has an unbeatable access, did you know for example that you can take a TGV from Tangier, if you choose this option, you “plant” in Rabat in just 1 hour and 20 minutes (255km), did you see how easy?
Rabat’s international airport also has good connections with Europe, so you know, now you have the perfect excuse to drop by. Rabat’s doors are open to everyone 😉 Morocco Tours 5 days
Rabat, Capital of Morocco and Unesco World Heritage Site
Rabat is the capital of Morocco, it is located right on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean and as the capital that it is, you can imagine the many things it offers to everyone who visits it, but did you know that it is a Unesco World Heritage Site?
Since 2012 Unesco declared the Medina, the Kasbah, the Ville Nouvelle and Chellah as a World Heritage Site.
Rabat must-sees
So now that you know that Rabat has an easy access and that it is also the capital and Unesco World Heritage Site, how about I show you what you can visit in 1 day in the big city? Let’s start. Casablanca desert tours
Kasbah Wall
Of course what is most impressive when you get to the city center is to find this Great Wall adorned by beautiful Andalusian gardens that announce the entrance to a beautiful and great Kasbah.
It is inevitable to stop at the multitude of doors that welcome travelers, their beautiful decorations are worth admiring, don’t you think?
Dreamy Kasbah
As you stroll through the Kasbah, you will find something that reminds me of the beautiful Chefchaouen.
Lots of narrow streets with blue and white colors, interrupted from time to time by the red color of the Moroccan flag, the flower pots that give the alley a very picturesque atmosphere and the sweet little kittens that camp freely in every corner. How beautiful the streets are!
And what to say about its countless beautiful, decorated and embellished doors, during the tour you will find a lot of them.
The Medina of Rabat is a medina very easy to explore, perhaps because it is not full of tourists, this is something that makes it much more authentic, so you have to take advantage of it as long as it stays that way, don’t you think?
Something that I was very surprised to find in this beautiful promenade, was its large esplanade overlooking the beaches bathed by a large Atlantic Ocean. From there you can see the beach of Rabat, the lighthouse and a large cemetery that catches our attention. Rutas por Marruecos
Café Maure
Strolling almost aimlessly through its colorful alleys will make you want to rest a while and if you enjoy a tasty Moroccan tea, all the better. Do not leave there without making a stop along the way at the beautiful Café Maure, why, a delicious tea and a breathtaking view.
Souk of Rabat
As it could not be otherwise, Rabat has a large Bazaar, one that in my opinion turns out to be one of the quietest I have found in Morocco, as you will not feel at any time the insistence of traders.
There the truth is that there is a much calmer and relaxed atmosphere, something that is to be appreciated especially so that we can look calmly all kinds of handmade beauties that are sold there.
On arrival you will find more than 500 meters of craft stores, followed by numerous streets with clothing stores, ending in an inhabited and less touristy area that fascinates me for its purest essence.
Royal Mausoleum of Mohammed V
When I saw this white Italian marble facade, I said to myself: “My God, what a beauty! It is quite normal that such beauty is always guarded by royal guards.
The Royal Mausoleum of Rabat houses the tomb of King Mohammed V and his sons and is considered a true architectural jewel and one of the most beautiful mausoleums in the world. Have you seen what a wonder? This classic Arab-Andalusian jewel of traditional Moroccan art will leave you, like me, speechless. 8
Traveling to Rabat via Airarabia
If you want to make a nice excursion, you already know what should be your must-see Rabat, although it is clear that this interesting city has much more. Access from Spain to this city for example traveling to Tangier with Airarabia is very easy and affordable, so it is clear to me that…I’ll be back😉.
