ZAGORA

The desert of Zagora is the closest after Merzouga, it is 360 km from Marrakech. It is the most suitable for 2-day trips and is located about 8 hours by car. Although the journey is a bit long, there are several stops to rest.

MERZOUGA

Undoubtedly the most impressive of Morocco and the most visited.

Merzouga or Erg Chebbi is located 550 km from Marrakech, it is the desert that one dreams of. In its impressive sea of dunes, there is the main dune Lala Merzouga (the mother) of about 150 meters high, as well as a stunning sky full of stars.

During the journey, which takes two days, you can enjoy spectacular places like the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, where movies and series such as Lawrence of Arabia or Game of Thrones were filmed… The Valley of the Roses where a very special rose is cultivated, the Damascene Rose… the spectacular Dades Gorges or the Draa Valley.

However, if you are going to start from Fes, Casablanca or Tangier, then it is better to visit Merzouga desert first and later visit Zagora.
